We are seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial Operations Manager to lead and grow our Redi-Rock manufacturing business in Joppa, Maryland. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing both the production and sales teams, and driving business expansion in existing and new markets.
The ideal candidate will take ownership of an established operation and bring the vision, leadership, and execution skills necessary to improve efficiency, increase sales, and scale the business.
Overview Responsibilities Operations & Production Management- Lead and manage all plant operations, including precast production, quality control, inventory, equipment, and logistics
- Oversee production scheduling to meet customer demand while maintaining safety, quality, and cost targets
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve profitability
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and Redi-Rock manufacturing requirements
- Manage maintenance of plant equipment and coordinate repairs as needed
- Lead and support the sales team to grow revenue across contractors, engineers, developers, and municipalities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand market share in Maryland and surrounding regions
- Collaborate with sales on pricing, production capacity, project timelines, and customer satisfaction
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders
- Identify new product, market, and growth opportunities
- Recruit, train, and develop high-performing production and sales teams
- Set clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics across departments
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Act as a visible leader on the plant floor and in customer interactions
- Manage operational budgets, labor costs, and production expenses
- Analyze performance metrics and financial results to drive informed decision-making
- Partner with ownership on strategic planning, capital investments, and long-term growth initiatives
- Take ownership of operational outcomes with a mindset of continuous improvement and expansion
- Proven experience in operations management within manufacturing, construction materials, precast concrete, or related industries
- Experience managing both production teams and sales teams preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of improving and growing an operation
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, scheduling, logistics, and quality control
- Strong business acumen, problem-solving skills, and decision-making ability
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Familiarity with Redi-Rock systems or precast concrete is a strong plus
