- You will design and constructs a variety of highly complex and accurate models, and devices from wide variety materials.
- You will conduct research on new materials and established techniques and procedures for their use in model making.
- You will consult with and advise Midshipmen, Trident/Bowman Scholars, and other academic customers regarding composites and woodworking technologies, processes, materials and fabrication techniques.
- You will prepare outlines of subject matter, and conducts laboratories/lectures about advanced composites and woodworking processing techniques for groups of students and academic customers.
- You will use composite materials (i.e., carbon fiber, fiberglass, high and low density foams and other materials).
- You will need to be able to do some lifting of objects up to 50lbs.
- You will be a purchase card holder.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- The work may involve assisting or operating a forklift or motor vehicle.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
