Principal Test Engineer

Job Description: This full‑time position supports a U.S. Government customer by providing technical expertise to sustain critical mission‑related software and systems.

• Design and implement automated tests for web applications.

• Active or reinstatable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
• At least 20 years of senior engineering experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline (a bachelor’s can be substituted by five years of additional engineering experience).
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.

• Understand how to construct Gherkin to capture desired behavior of a system.
• Develop and maintain automated test cases.
• Analyze and interpret test results.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve automation issues.
• Occasionally perform manual test verification.
• Participate in cross‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills for coordinating with teammates in building automation frameworks.

• Knowledge of test automation tools or willingness to learn (e.g., Cucumber, Selenium).
• Experience writing tests in programming languages or willingness to learn (e.g., Python, Java).
• Understanding of web technologies or willingness to learn (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with databases (e.g., SQL).
• Experience designing and implementing automated systems to perform software testing.
• Experience identifying and replicating errors in automation scripts.
  
  Experience planning, executing, and analyzing test data to verify performance and efficiency of system.
