Certified Nursing Assistant – Oncology Department
Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support our Oncology Department. The role will assist in delivering compassionate patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities- Perform service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living under RN supervision.
- Adapt to specific duties by area of assignment and patient population needs.
- Participate in departmental and organizational education, meetings, committees, and professional initiatives.
- Commit to personal and professional development and adapt to change.
- Maintain a positive, professional image to represent nursing and the organization.
- Follow the care plan established and delegated by the RN and receive timely reports.
- Ensure a culture of safety and identify resources needed for safe delivery of patient care.
- Use resources appropriately and report malfunctioning or expired equipment and supplies.
- Clean and store work areas and equipment appropriately.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Successful completion of a CNA or first‑year Nursing School Program and the CNA exam.
- Maryland CNA License and state registry required.
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Basic arithmetic and strong computer skills.
- Read, write, and speak English effectively.
- Physical ability to lift, bend and turn as required.
- Experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Employment Type:
Part-time. Hours per Week: 24 hrs/week. Typical Daily
Schedule:
Monday‑Friday 7 am‑7 pm. Shift Type:
Day. Weekend: every other weekend rotation. Holiday:

Eligible.
$19.21 – $24.90 per hour.
