Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PRN 1099)

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner covering vacations and off days will play a crucial role in providing high-quality mental health care to patients in a variety of settings. This position involves conducting comprehensive assessments, diagnosing mental health conditions, and developing individualized treatment plans. The practitioner will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care and support for patients. Additionally, the role requires ongoing evaluation of treatment effectiveness and making necessary adjustments to improve patient outcomes.

Ultimately, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will contribute to enhancing the overall mental well-being of the community served.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health.
  • Current and valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
  • Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
  • At least two years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with diverse populations and various mental health conditions.
  • Familiarity with telehealth practices and technology.
  • Additional certifications in specialized areas of mental health care.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications as appropriate.
  • Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.

Effective communication skills are vital for building rapport with patients and collaborating with the healthcare team.
