Job Summary
As a sales associate you will be the face of the company, highlighting our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a customer‑focused organization. You will assist customers and help them recognize the need for our products and services, learning about what we sell and articulating our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner. You should have a positive, outgoing nature that enjoys serving others and making a positive impact.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Proactively engage and connect with customers.
- Ask questions and listen to customer needs.
- Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card benefits.
- Cooperate to build inclusive, respectful relationships; take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
Organization
- Maintain store appearance.
Sales
- Cross‑sell products and understand the store layout.
- Make suggestions to customers on latest trends and current promotions based on individual needs.
- Upsell products.
- Learn product features, stay updated on the latest trends, and leverage company tools and technology to confidently provide product knowledge and specifications.
- Use a Point‑of‑Sales system to process cash, exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards, and handle cash accurately, including counting money and returning correct amounts to customers.
- Complete various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.
Inventory
- Serve as the keeper of merchandise, complete all inventory processes, and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- Participate in periodic inventories as needed.
Dependability
- Adhere to the assigned work schedule and complete all work assignments accurately and fully.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Product Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
Experience
- Retail experience preferred but not required.
Communication Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management.
- Ability to conduct telephone communication with proper etiquette.
Mathematical Skills
- Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to multi‑task while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently of direct supervision.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours.
- May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments.
- Work is typically performed indoors but may involve assignment outdoors depending on location.

- Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.
Work Hours
- Availability to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
No experience required. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
