As a sales associate you are the face of our company, highlighting our brand and values and ensuring a positive customer experience. You assist customers in recognizing the need for our products and services, articulate product benefits, and drive sales while maintaining store standards.
Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service- Proactively engage and build connections with customers
- Ask questions and listen to customer needs
- Direct customers to merchandise and inform them of upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card benefits
- Cooperate and build respectful, inclusive relationships, taking accountability for your actions and outcomes
- Maintain a clean, attractive store appearance
- Cross‑sell products and understand store layout
- Make suggestions based on customer needs and current promotions
- Upsell products where appropriate
- Keep up with product features and market trends using company tools and technology
- Operate a point‑of‑sale system: process cash, exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit and debit cards; handle cash accurately, count money, and return correct change
- Complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation as required
- Execute all inventory processes, ensuring merchandise is properly checked in and ticketed; participate in periodic inventories as needed
- Adhere to assigned work schedule and complete assignments accurately and completely
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Basic knowledge of products and merchandise
- Retail experience preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents, safety rules, and procedure manuals
- Ability to communicate with customers, peers, and management; telephone etiquette
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
- Reasoning ability: multi‑task, remain attentive to customers, stay flexible to business needs, and work independently while collaborating as part of a team
- Enthusiastic, friendly, energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service
This position requires constant movement, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. It may also involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, lifting 25–50 lbs., and working indoors or outdoors depending on location. Vision requirements include close, color, and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work HoursAvailable to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
No experience required. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
