Retail Rock Climbing Associate

Overview

As a Climbing Associate, you will drive engagement, training, and educational programs for teammates and customers in all aspects of climbing. You are responsible for monitoring climbing activities and providing assistance to climbers, directing workflow, and overseeing daily operations of the climb department under the guidance of the Lead and Assistant Store Manager.

• Drive results, ensuring company standards and assisting in other operations as needed.
• Deliver the highest level of customer service within the department, engaging in behaviors aligned with the company’s service and selling standards.
• Provide consultative advice and demonstrate excellent product knowledge to customers.
• Instruct climbing techniques for individuals of all ages and experience levels.
• Teach instructional lessons as required.
• Maintain merchandise presentation, following floor sets, signing requirements, price changes, replenishment, and recovery processes.
• Assist the Climbing lead with team‑building events at the rock wall.
• Identify and correct any safety concerns with the rock wall and climbing equipment, maintaining loss‑prevention standards.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance of standard operating procedures for the building, service areas, climbing wall, and field.
• Maintain confidentiality of all company information.
• Create an inclusive store environment where everyone feels welcome, safe, and respected.
• Support the team across the store as needed.

• Assist in creating, maintaining, and ensuring compliance of safety‑related standard operating procedures for the building, service areas, climbing wall, and field.
• Ensure the safety and security of teammates, athletes, and property per local regulations.
• Ensure all certifications are completed and up to date.

• Prior retail experience preferred.
• Climbing certification required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Targeted pay range: $16.50 – $24.50 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the applicable minimum wage.
