Mid-level Environmental Scientist/Qualified Bog Turtle Surveyor (3-6+ years)

We are currently looking for an Environmental Scientist with 3-6 years of experience or more in rare, threatened, and endangered species surveys (including bog turtles) and wetland delineation.
Candidate must be a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service qualified bog turtle surveyor (QBTS) in Maryland or surrounding states or close to meeting those requirements.
Candidates without the required bog turtle experience will not be considered. The position requires rigorous field work in all weather conditions, technical writing, task/project management, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

  • Successful candidates will have a B.S. in Environmental Science or related field, with pertinent course work in applied sciences such as ecology, botany, herpetology, wildlife biology, and natural resource management / regulations. M.S. a plus.
  • At least 4 years applied field experience in RTE surveys and wetland delineation, at least one (1) of those years delineating as the technical lead preferred.
  • Candidate must be a qualified bog turtle surveyor (QBTS) in Maryland or surrounding states or close to meeting those requirements.
  • At least 1 year managing projects or complex tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Accomplished self-starter with demonstrated time and management skills.
  • Salary Range $70,000
    -80,000/yr
