Job Summary

Under general supervision, provides leadership and training to technicians in the installation, repair, and testing of voice, data, and audiovisual infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

Communicates regularly with customers, the Cabling Group Manager, and/or Cabling Supervisor to stay informed of work tasks and deadlines.

Coordinates daily work assignments and schedules for junior crew members, including temporary labor and subcontractors.

Interacts with clients, contractors, and vendors on-site.

Creates and maintains a positive work environment.

Verifies daily work hours of crew members.

Delegates tasks to junior crew members, ensuring timely and quality completion.

Complies with all company policies and procedures.

Maintains a safe work environment in accordance with company safety policies.

May lead a crew of 2 to 4 technicians and helpers under supervision.

Works independently or with other technicians on service calls, including adds, moves, and changes, and updates documentation accordingly.

Completes work orders, material transfer forms, and other required documentation.

Engages in ongoing education through corporate or specialty courses.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma/GED.
At least 10 years of technical experience in installation, termination, testing procedures, and standards.
Knowledge of hardware, equipment, and specifications related to network topologies and telecommunication voice/data systems.
Leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of termination equipment, methodologies, and splicing techniques.
Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, perform cable termination, testing, rack preparation, layout, installation, and documentation.
