Overview
Fire sprinkler foreman are responsible for the complete installation of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. They manage specific installation projects assigned by the Fire Sprinkler Manager and oversee technicians, fitters, and assistants on site.
Responsibilities- Use project drawings to interpret installation requirement details accurately and entirely.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to fitters, mechanics, and assistants as needed to fulfill project completion deadlines, meet scheduling requirements, and exceed goals established by the fire sprinkler manager.
- Install and test fire suppression equipment in new or retrofit construction projects.
- Follow designed plans and communicate needed design changes to fit actual site requirements.
- Be responsible for materials delivered to site and for minor fabrication on the job site.
- Update daily installation progress notes on job contract drawings.
- If a change to the order is necessary, bring it to the attention of the manager.
- Instruct and train helpers, apprentices, or other personnel in the basic process or service, repair, and/or system installation.
- Accurately complete and maintain all paperwork.
- Maintain vehicle and tools as per company policy.
- Use hand tools, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic power tools.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
- Working knowledge of pipe fitting, plumbing regulations, and fire protection codes.
- Must hold a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record to be approved to drive a company vehicle.
- Must display knowledge of principles and practices of fire safety, codes and regulations related to the work, and the ability to review official documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Must be able to act in a lead capacity, recognize and report deviations through inspection programs, interpret, apply, and explain applicable laws, codes, and regulations, maintain accurate records and reports, understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Must be able to use or repair small/light equipment such as power tools, ladders, medium equipment and machinery.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects. Must have the following physical abilities: balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.
