Build your career with an industry‑leading fire, life safety and security company. This position is responsible for performing building sprinkler service and inspections, including testing devices, recording and generating results, and providing reports.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Ensure all inspections are completed on a timely basis and are done accurately and thoroughly.
- Test all building sprinkler control panels, devices, and functions of the sprinkler system; enter test results into the Palm handheld device.
- Download inspection information and generate a completed Sprinkler Inspection Report.
- Assist the Lead Inspector and/or Inspection Manager in collecting data and generating necessary paperwork (Sprinkler Inspection Reports, Quick Reports, and Inspection Certificates).
- Participate in monthly team meetings.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
- College degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent acceptable with relevant experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sprinkler testing and inspections.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards for inspection and testing of fire protection systems.
- Current with code requirements, industry changes, and NICET certifications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a customer‑service orientation.
- Ability to work well within a team environment.
- Proficiency with test equipment (sensitivity test equipment, multi‑meters, battery analyzers, sound level meters, and communication devices).
- Competent PC skills, including use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Palm unit operating systems.
- Reliable transportation to and from the office or job site.
- Strong punctuality; ability to perform sound tests prior to building tenant arrivals.
Work in industrial, commercial, and residential building environments with moderate to high noise levels; comfortable working t stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to use a phone and computer consistently throughout the day.
Pay Range$28–$40 per hour, dependent on experience and industry knowledge.
