Northrop Grumman – Mission Systems sector seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician to maintain building equipment and perform maintenance across various trades such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, painting, and general building. The technician will conduct inspections, coordinate with vendors, and support facilities operations.

Essential Duties
  • Perform routine, periodic, and special inspections to prevent equipment and facility breakdowns.
  • Execute maintenance, repair, and installation tasks across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, painting, flooring, raised‑floors, structural components, and general building elements.
  • Operate plant‑yard equipment such as skid steers, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other powered aerial or material‑handling devices when required.
  • Update the preventive‑maintenance database and complete work orders on time using a CMMS (e.g., Maximo, Maintenance Connection).
  • Conduct EHS checks (fire extinguishers, eye‑wash stations, emergency lighting).
  • Coordinate with vendors/suppliers for repairs and installations.
  • Perform maintenance and repair work to include interior walls, painting, all types of floor covering, raised‑floors, structural members, and all other building components as necessary.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls and on‑call requirements (e.g., capital‑project startups).
  • Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal from walkways and roads.
  • Assist Facilities Management with ancillary duties (file upkeep, site cleanup, warehouse organization, etc.).
Typical Schedule

Monday‑Friday, 06:00‑16:00 (1‑hour break). 9/80 option available (four 9‑hour days + every‑other Friday off).

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance.
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Experience reading blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience with hand/power tools and modular office‑furniture assembly/disassembly.
  • Ability to follow written instruction and complete documentation associated with facility maintenance.
  • Experience in testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery and/or equipment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs to include Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to learn other specific programs and databases.
  • Experience in customer service, written/oral communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical training or certifications.
  • Knowledge of maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical and HVAC systems.
  • Experience with commercial HVAC, fire‑alarm systems, and SCIF construction.
  • OSHA certification or training.
  • Basic networking/cabling knowledge.
  • Self‑starter, independent work, problem‑solving and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with CAFM/Work‑Order systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50lb.
  • Perform work from ladders, scaffolds, and powered lift platforms.
  • Climb ≥200ft of vertical ladder or tower‑climbing system while wearing approved fall‑arrest PPE (when required).
  • Perform moderate‑to‑strenuous physical work in indoor and outdoor environments under varied atmospheric conditions.
  • Wear required safety gear for specific tasks.
  • Work independently and follow detailed work instructions.
Compensation

Primary Level Salary Range: $50,882.00 – $

Salary is determined by position scope, responsibilities, and candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and, for senior positions, long‑term incentives.
