Wastewater Technician

Join a leading wastewater contractor as a Wastewater Technician, where you will support daily operations at a wastewater treatment plant by safely handling materials, operating equipment, and maintaining a clean and efficient worksite in an outdoor, plant-based environment.

Responsibilities
  • Move wastewater by-products and cake materials safely and efficiently around the plant.
  • Load trucks with cake materials for shipment in a safe and timely manner.
  • Unload trucks as they arrive, ensuring materials are handled and stored correctly.
  • Operate a centrifuge machine to support wastewater processing operations.
  • Operate a skid steer or forklift to move materials and cake as needed, following all safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site by performing regular housekeeping and clean-up tasks.
  • Assist with general construction-related tasks such as trench digging and concrete work as needed.
  • Follow all plant safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support wastewater treatment plant operations.
Essential Skills
  • 2+ years of outdoor construction experience or wastewater experience.
  • Hands-on experience with concrete work in a construction or industrial setting.
  • Experience with trench digging and related civil or construction tasks.
  • Experience in construction labor, including working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Experience working in a wastewater or similar industrial environment.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment such as a centrifuge machine.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate skid steers and forklifts.
  • Strong awareness of safety practices in industrial and construction environments.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and working on your feet for extended periods.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Any additional construction experience is a plus.
  • Experience in civil construction or infrastructure projects is beneficial.
  • Comfort working in an industrial plant environment with wastewater processes.
  • Willingness to work flexible 12-hour shifts, including day or night schedules.

Work

Environment

This role is based at a wastewater treatment plant and involves working primarily outdoors in an industrial environment. You will work around wastewater processing equipment, including centrifuges and material-handling machinery such as skid steers and forklifts. The schedule typically consists of 12-hour shifts, either 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Thursday or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM with flexibility as needed.

The work is physically active and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, industrial noise, and typical wastewater plant conditions, with appropriate safety measures and protective equipment in place.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Annapolis, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
