T‑Rex has been tracking a recent trend of job offer scams. These scams start with an unsolicited email or Linked In message from a fake or impersonated recruiter that states the candidate meets a skillset that the recruiter is looking for. That is often followed up with a false screening questionnaire and even an interview for the nonexistent position. After this, the candidate receives an official‑looking job offer.
In some cases, there is also a request for a large payment to acquire office equipment, such as a laptop. The scammer tells the victim that they will be reimbursed for the purchase of the office equipment, but of course this never happens.
All legitimate communication from T‑Rex will have an email address ending with If you receive communications from any other email domain, please disregard and do not engage with them.
