Description

The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems—for example, processing‑intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real‑time systems, and business management information systems—based on documented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.

Provides input to system design to include hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off‑the‑Shelf (COTS) / Government Off‑the‑Shelf (GOTS) instead of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Clearance

A current Top‑Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance within seven (7) years is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.

Experience

Seven (7) years’ experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) additional years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Required skills
  • Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Spring Boot and Java
  • Build and manage RESTful APIs and backend services deployed on AWS (e.g., ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3)
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation)
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and security
  • Collaborate with Dev Ops, frontend, and product teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using tools like Cloud Watch, Prometheus, or ELK
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability

Salary range: $185,000 – $200,000, depending on education and years of experience.
