The Apple Media Products (AMP) Data Services team is looking for amazing engineers to design and build the best systems to meet our complex and growing data and infrastructure needs. We are a critical part of the Apple ecosystem, supporting millions of users and billions of transactions. We are looking for someone who is ready to work on a larger scale and be involved in the marketing of exciting new products and services.

• Extensive professional experience developing software in Java and/or C++ with a strong understanding of object-oriented concepts and design
• Experience and deep understanding of distributed data stores such as Kafka, Cassandra, Redis, Solr, etc. Strong production debugging and performance tuning skills.
• Strong understanding of data architecture and related issues.
• Experience working on complex problems and distributed systems where scalability and performance are extremely important (every millisecond counts)
• Must be independent and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Apple's media engineering team supports tens of millions of content in more than 150 markets enjoyed by hundreds of millions of users, powering various features within Apple client apps such as App Store, Apple Music, Apple TV+, iTunes, iBooks, podcasts, etc. We have unique and growing needs for data storage and consumption. You will help build the next generation platform and infrastructure services by providing and supporting features such as structured and unstructured storage, caching, queuing and much more.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with multiple AMP teams, from shop and commerce to research and advice, building pipelines and infrastructure platforms and services that can scale rapidly and deliver personalized and non-personalized data with very low latency. You must be someone who isn't afraid to question assumptions, is a good team player with tight deadlines, and approaches problems with elegant technical solutions.

Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.

• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and services, gRPC is a plus.

At Apple, the base salary is part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $242,000 and your base salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become Apple shareholders by participating in Apple employee discretionary stock programs.

Additionally, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonus or commission payments as well as relocation.
