Seasonal Yard Driver, Joppa – Full Time Job Overview

Macy’s Yard Drivers perform all functions related to the process of moving trailers within the facility as directed by the Management team.

Full-time colleagues typically work 30 or more hours per week; part-time colleagues 12–24 hours per week. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. Benefit eligibility information is available in the company portal.

• Load and unload merchandise and supplies
• Pick up and deliver merchandise and supplies to various departments
• Drive company vehicles (must have a valid driver’s license)
• Refuel vehicles
• Will be trained on all power equipment operations
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Promote an environment of acceptance and respect for colleagues, customers, and communities

• High school diploma or equivalent (encouraged)
• No prior experience required
• Able to move trailers up to 53 feet in length efficiently under tight conditions
• Knowledge of yard tractor trailers and dollies to spot issues or potential problems
• Clean driving record
• Can read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
• Resourceful, self‑starter who works well independently and as part of a team
• Basic knowledge of computers and handheld technology
• Flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekends, and holidays

• Prolonged standing/walking around the store or department
• May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, climbing ladders, depth perception, and color vision
• Frequent use of computers and handheld electronic equipment
• Frequent lifting/moving of up to 50 lbs
