Life Star Response of Maryland is seeking an experienced and dependable Night Shift Dispatch Supervisor to oversee overnight dispatch operations for our Interfacility Transport and Paratransit services.
Position SummaryThe Night Shift Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for supervising dispatch operations during overnight hours, ensuring efficient resource deployment, maintaining exceptional customer service, and supporting operational excellence. This position serves as the primary point of contact for night shift operations and works closely with dispatch staff, drivers, field personnel, customers, and management to ensure safe, timely, and effective transportation services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise and support night shift dispatch personnel, providing guidance, coaching, and operational oversight.
- Monitor daily dispatch activities to ensure efficient assignment and coordination of transportation resources.
- Maintain continuous communication with drivers, field personnel, healthcare facilities, and customers regarding transportation requests and service updates.
- Respond to operational issues, schedule changes, and service disruptions in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Assist with training and onboarding of dispatch staff as needed.
- Address customer concerns and service‑related issues while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
- Collaborate with management and field operations personnel to maintain service quality and operational efficiency.
- Prepare reports, document incidents, and maintain accurate operational records.
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve dispatch processes and workflow.
- Previous experience in transportation dispatch, EMS, medical transportation, paratransit, or related operations required.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with computer‑based dispatch and scheduling systems.
- Experience with Traumasoft software strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of interfacility transport and paratransit operations required.
- Ability to work overnight and weekend hours as scheduled.
