Warehouse Associate 1st Shift

Position Overview

Ryder is immediately hiring for permanent full‑time Warehouse Associates in Elkridge, MD.

• Hourly Pay $20.00 per hour
• Overtime Pay $30.00 per hour
• Schedule:
  
  Monday‑Friday 7:00am‑5:00pm or until finished (overtime as required)

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Six months of related warehouse experience required (one year or more preferred)
• Ability to operate powered industrial trucks (e.g., forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks); operation and maintenance skills required (intermediate level)
• Possibly required to operate manual and/or automated manufacturing equipment (e.g., packaging line) – intermediate preferred
• Powered industrial truck certification required
• Ability to read, perform basic mathematics in English for safety and work instructions
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to input data into the WMS computer system
• Work overtime as assigned
• Ability to build professional relationships at all organizational levels
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Self‑driven, flexible, and adept at managing a fast‑paced environment
• Capable of multi‑tasking, highly organized, and excellent time‑management skills
• Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

• Package, kit and/or assemble orders and materials.
• Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers; ensure all scanning is completed correctly; help train dock employees on new procedures; secure facility at end of shift; investigate/resolve scanning issues and housekeeping; perform picking and packing duties; check for evidence of product or container damage.
• Perform assigned tasks per location’s policies and procedures, including handling materials within associated logical transactions.
• Perform material moves with associated physical/logical transactions as required.
• Participate in workgroup and other team activities for continuous improvement of warehouse operations.
• Perform housekeeping duties for assigned area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
