Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Management Representative (CMR) to provide full-time, on-site construction management services in support of the Denver Service Center (DSC) for the rehabilitation of the Greyhound Bus Depot and Mural Building in Anniston, Alabama.

You will be responsible for construction oversight, project documentation, cost estimating, proposal analysis, scheduling analysis, quality assurance support, submittal/RFI management, construction progress monitoring, meeting facilitation, contract modification support, and closeout documentation.

This position is contingent upon the award of contract. If awarded, the anticipated period of performance will be approximately one year with potential extensions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Arrange, attend, facilitate, and document weekly progress meetings, internal Government meetings, inspections, and negotiations between the Government and Contractor.
  • Attend contractor-led weekly and/or monthly safety meetings and complete progress meeting notes within one business day.
  • Observe and document construction progress, workmanship, quality, and conformance with contract documents, applicable building codes, and safety standards; complete daily reports and upload them to the CM software.
  • Take appropriate photographs and include them in daily logs with legends, dimension notes, and descriptions.
  • Monitor Construction Contractor compliance with Accident Prevention Plans (APP) and applicable safety requirements and document safety issues.
  • Review and verify the completeness and accuracy of baseline and progress schedules and prepare required DSC schedule review checklists and logs.
  • Review Prime and Subcontractor certified payrolls and payroll logs for compliance with Department of Labor requirements.
  • Review monthly Construction Contractor progress Payment Requests and supporting documentation and complete the DSC Construction Payment Request Checklist.
  • Receive, log, review, and track Construction Contractor submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) and assist in their resolution.
  • Review CQC Daily Reports, O&M manuals, warranties, guarantees, and closeout requirements; facilitate 3-phase inspections and assist the Government with Contract Changes and disputes.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or any engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional construction experience involving construction management, project monitoring, contract administration, inspection, or related construction activities.
  • Read, interpret, and apply construction contracts, plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of construction processes and similar project work to monitor, document, and verify compliance with contract requirements.
  • Successfully completed OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training.
  • Possess a working knowledge of construction practices, applicable building codes, and safety regulations, including conducting and documenting inspections and reviewing mock-ups.
