Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Quality Engineer ensures strong product and process control aligned with the Control Plan while partnering closely with production teams. This role also leads the 8D problem-solving process for all internal and external concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

Key Tasks:

  • Ensure full compliance with Production Control Plans and maintain updated documentation throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Verify proper use, calibration, and maintenance of measurement and test equipment, including "red rabbits" used for Poka-Yoke validation.
  • Collect, analyze, and react to manufacturing process data; maintain SPC capability studies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Approve and maintain all quality documents for the production line/cell, such as Control Plans, Work Instructions, Boundary Samples, Appearance Books, and Rework/Inspection Instructions.
  • Ensure proper containment, rework, and inspection processes for non-conforming products while leading timely disposition.
  • Lead problem-solving and Fast Response activities, ensuring effective use of tools and timely 8D completion.
  • Facilitate cross-functional root-cause resolution and coordinate internal sorting when required.
  • Conduct process capability studies, recommend improvements based on findings, and verify effectiveness.
  • Participate in FMEA reviews and updates.
  • Supervise Manufacturing Process Quality Inspectors/Auditors and ensure the accuracy of inspections and audits.
  • Exercise authority to stop any process or product delivery in cases of non-conformance or safety/environmental risks.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical field.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and understand product-specific quality requirements.
  • Experience with quality and problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, SPC, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, PPAP).
  • Experience in manufacturing environments with understanding of production and process control methods.
