Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacists in services that require certified skill and training, but do not involve professional judgement, as assigned and supervised by the pharmacist; provides clerical support as needed; stocks Pyxis and maintains adequate inventory levels.
• Assists in correcting medication errors.
• Enters patient charges.
• Assists in audit functions and unit inspections.
• Practices inventory control.
• Assists in the preparation of parenteral solutions.
• Processes physician's orders and stock requests.
• Performs Pyxis duties.
• Stocks needed drugs and supplies.
• Performs clerical duties.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the work environment.
• Processes I.V. orders.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of patients served.
• Competency requirements are met.
• Maintains crash carts.

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Registered with the Alabama Board of Pharmacy.
