General Duties and Responsibilities

Proactively exhibits and promotes The McWane Way principles.

1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.

Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Wear appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.

Uses proper lifting and ergo techniques.

Others duties may be assigned.

Employee Engagement

Support and maintain good employee relations through employee engagement activities.

Executes employee activities designed to enrich morale and employee commitment by assisting in creating, planning and facilitating inspiring employee initiatives, events, perks and celebrations.

Develops, plans and manages special events which includes pre-planning, problem-solving, logistics, directing event set-up, communicating with staff and organizing vendors and managing take-down.

Records Management

Maintain hard copy and scanned copy personnel files and records in accordance with state and federal requirements and corporate guidelines, and the corporate retention policy.

Completes verification of employment for current and previous team members.

Distributes HR communications and maintains the HR Communication Boards.

Conducts and analyzes exit interviews for hourly team members and provides summary reports.

Development

Assign Brainier training to applicable team members, monitor and record training.

Track and maintain training records related to HR training programs, such as, The McWane Way, leadership, etc.

Recruitment and Outreach

Support recruitment efforts as assigned. May include individual recruiting assignments or support of other HR team members in performance of their role.

Attend job fairs, school career fairs, and other talent sourcing opportunities.

Participate in outreach and workforce development activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in a business-related field required. A concentration in Human Resources is preferred.

Human resources experience required; heavy manufacturing experience preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.

Certification through SHRM or HRCI preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Environment

The work environment is a typical office setting within a heavy manufacturing environment. As necessary, must wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
