American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-acuity, high-volume Emergency Department position requiring at least one year of recent ER experience and an active AL or compact RN license.
Details- High-acuity, high-volume combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department setting
- Patient population spans all age groups: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
- Required skills include: blood product administration, central line care/management, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration, ortho-trauma, identifying and reporting abuse (peds), near drowning (peds), respiratory infections (peds), and seizures (peds)
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Every other weekend required
- 8-week contract
- Active Alabama (AL) RN license or compact RN license required; pending license considered
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all via AHA) required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Fit Test required
- CPI and TNCC preferred
- Minimum one year of recent ER experience required
- Level II Trauma experience preferred
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Prior permanent employees of this facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local and may be eligible at a different rate
- RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the assignment
- Hospital-provided housing is available — shared units with private bedrooms and shared common spaces; male and female units are separate; no dogs allowed; travelers coordinate housing directly with the facility
- The facility offers flight reimbursement for economy-level travel; detailed flight and luggage receipts must be submitted for reimbursement
- Flight itinerary must be provided one week prior to start date; the facility will arrange airport pickup for arriving travelers
