American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry/PCU position requiring an active AL or compact RN license and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

• PCU/Stepdown and Med Surg/Telemetry work settings within a hospital environment
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating to Med Surg units as needed
• Requires cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams

• Active RN license (Alabama or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line care/management required
• Ability to manage cardiac drips (no titration) and Heparin protocols required
• Experience with blood product administration required
• Charting system experience required (any EMR accepted)

• Provide skilled nursing care within a Telemetry/PCU setting, including dysrhythmia management and rapid response coordination
• Perform IV therapy, medication administration, and respiratory support including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Follow isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
• Must work at least one designated holiday (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day)
• Requested time off (RTO) limited to a maximum of 7 days
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted at a lower pay rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
