Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring cardiac monitoring expertise and an Alabama or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active RN license (Alabama or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
• Experience in MS/Tele, Tele, and PCU/Stepdown settings required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Experience with central and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Any charting system experience accepted

Responsibilities

• Work in the PCU (Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown) of a hospital environment
• Patient ratios of 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• 13-week assignment length
• Float to Med Surg/Tele units as needed
• Manages cardiac drips (no titration required)
• Performs IV starts and heparin protocols
• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response care to PCU/stepdown patients
• Must be able to work at least one required holiday (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day)
• Every other weekend work required
• Requested time off limited to a maximum of 7 days

• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
• Candidates residing within 60 miles are considered local and may be submitted at a different rate
• Pending license candidates may be considered
