MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking an experienced Communication Systems Technician II in the Anniston, AL area to support our fast‑growing Voice division.

What You Will Be Doing- Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving complex equipment, programming, system, and installation problems/issues (e.g., two‑way radios, land mobile radios, P25 trunking systems, MOTOTRBO).
- Fixing the system when things go wrong and bringing communications back online to public safety, hospitals, and other mission‑critical customers.
- Partnering with customers to develop an installation/programming strategy and coordinating with the team to ensure access to required locations.
- Assisting in scoping out and quoting service, installation, and programming projects.
- Supporting the development of talent and technical skill sets of the service team.
- Completing assigned tickets properly and on time.
- Making minor modifications to electronic circuitry per customer request and/or deploying factory software/firmware updates.
- Demonstrating a willingness to learn and be mentored on new technologies in communications and equipment.
- Serving in an on‑call rotation and providing 24/7 technical support.
- Minimum two (2) years, average of 5+ years of technical service and installation experience.
- Proficiency with radio equipment – installation, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Proven track record of providing hands‑on operational, technical, and installation support/service to complex radio and wireless communication systems.
- Extensive knowledge of radio theory, RF propagation characteristics at various frequency bands, and communication systems.
- Subscriber programming expertise and ability to program various radio types based on customer requirements.
- Strong communication skills with end users and third parties.
- P25 and/or MotoTRBO experience (required).
Physical Requirements
Work may be conducted inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Tasks include standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing stairs, operating equipment up to 50 pounds, and occasional ladder use. On‑call for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours are Monday–Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.
Travel RequirementsPrimary customer support in Washington, DC, and Maryland. Traveling to job sites is required. A company vehicle will be provided. Valid driver’s license and successful MVR check required.
