Responsibilities and duties :

Strictly follow all safety procedures and use all required personal protective equipment.

Troubleshoot and repair all electrical problems on both production equipment and plant facilities.

Troubleshoot and repair advanced motor starter and switching circuits.

Perform maintenance on plant electrical equipment.

Understand the use of each chemical used at FITCO for production, ingredient and cleaning. This includes how to properly mix chemicals and what chemicals not to use together, plus the proper handling procedures and PPE that must be worn during the use of the chemicals.

Communicate effectively to production and quality personnel what work was performed to allow correct decisions to be made in the sanitation and startup of any maintained equipment.

Work well with production, quality and USDA to ensure equipment and facilities are maintained in a sanitary manner.

Fill in for Instrumentation and Controls Tech when necessary.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Required:

Must have minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as an electrician.

Must have verifiable completion of electrical courses or a completed apprenticeship.

Working knowledge of PLC and network components.

Must possess 2 years of experience working with proximity switches, level controls and temperature controls. Must have a working knowledge of instrumentation and level control readings using specialized electrical tools. Must be able to fill in for Instrumentation and Controls Tech when necessary.

Must have experience working with AC, DC, high voltage and low voltage applications.

Must be able to work on and program variable speed drives.

Must have knowledge of shop electrical test equipment; i.e. VOM, AMPROBE etc. Be proficient in use of electrical tools.

Must be able to read and understand all manuals on machinery and be able to troubleshoot and repair all electrical problems.
