Cage Repairer

KOCH FOODS is hiring a Cage Repairer to maintain and repair poultry live-haul cages and related equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will inspect cages for structural damage, perform welding and mechanical repairs, replace worn parts, and complete preventive maintenance to support safe, efficient bird transport. This role works closely with live production and maintenance teams, following strict safety, biosecurity, and food safety guidelines.

Ideal candidates have hands-on mechanical or agricultural equipment experience, can work outdoors and in varying conditions, and value teamwork, integrity, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Inspect poultry live-haul cages and related equipment for structural damage and wear
• Perform mechanical and welding repairs on cages, frames, doors, and moving components
• Complete preventive maintenance and lubrication on cage systems and transport equipment
• Replace damaged or worn parts, hardware, and safety components to maintain safe operation
• Document repairs, inspections, and parts usage according to company procedures
• Follow all safety, LOTO, and biosecurity protocols in shop, yard, and live-haul areas
• Coordinate with live production, maintenance, and transportation teams to minimize downtime
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and efficiently
• Work outdoors and in varying environmental conditions around live-haul operations
• Support continuous improvement and housekeeping standards in repair and staging areas
