This position will work on-site in our Anniston, Alabama office.

The Safety Director is responsible for leading and managing the company's safety and compliance programs. This role ensures all transportation operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations while promoting a strong culture of safety throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will proactively identify risks, implement solutions, and work closely with drivers, operations, and maintenance teams to improve overall fleet safety performance.
Directorof Safety and Compliance Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain transportation safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
- Lead safety coaches
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across transportation operations.
- Lead accident and incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and monitor driver qualification files, hours-of-service compliance, vehicle inspection records, and drug and alcohol testing programs.
- Provide safety training and ongoing education for drivers and staff.
- Track and analyze safety metrics and trends
- Support driver onboarding, performance management, and recognition initiatives.
- Stay current on industry regulations, safety technologies, and best practices.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure equipment meets company and regulatory safety standards.
- Promote a positive safety culture through communication, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prefer minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation safety, fleet compliance, fleet management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations.
- Prefer experience conducting accident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Ability to identify potential hazards and recommend effective corrective actions.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing hazardous materials compliance is preferred.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or ability to obtain
