Early Childhood Screeners - Substitutes Part-Time

Casual hours as needed - up to 8 hours per shift

Responsibilities:

• Administer Health and/or Development screenings for the Early Childhood Screening Program for children ages 3-7.
• Discuss the general development of the child with parent(s), including providing resources to address health and parenting concerns.
• Perform a medical history pertinent to child development, including reviewing health history and immunizations.
• Assist in identifying children to be evaluated for special education programming.
• Refer families to community resources.
• Maintain records of screening.
• Screen children's hearing and vision as part of the state mandated early childhood screening plus referrals, as needed.
• Follow-up on health-related referrals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or closely related field.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability/desire to work cooperatively with department and district staff.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
• Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions.
• Must be physically working in the building.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Teacher license in Early Childhood, Kindergarten, or Elementary Education or School Nurse.

Rate of pay: $31.61/hour and up, DOQ
