Adult Basic Ed Literacy Assistant

Location:
Adult Education Center
- Columbia Heights/Fridley, 4111 Central Ave NE, Columbia Heights
Part-Time 12 months/ 133 days / 8 hrs day
Schedule:
MONDAY - WEDNESDAY (Mon and Wed split shifts AM and PM)
Duties:
- Conduct ESL intake registration/placement and progress testing (in person and online) for incoming multilingual adult learners of English.
- Assist in orienting students to distance learning platforms and supporting students' use of the programs.
- Communicate with staff, work closely with teachers and intake/assessment staff.
- Assist with administering the standardized tests of CASAS, BEST PLUS, and TABE. Training will be provided.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to be flexible and function well in an environment that is busy and features an ethnically and culturally diverse population.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Experience with ESL learners preferred.
- Experience working with adults in an ABE/ESL academic program preferred.
- High comfort level in using technology (including excel/google sheets) preferred.
- Bilingual skills a plus.
Rate of pay: $18.91/hr to $25.55/hr
