Full‑Time, 184 days / 6.5 hrs/day

3 Positions available.

• Assist in the instruction of students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room, or center‑based settings.
• Manage behavior (redirect, calm, or remove disruptive students from the classroom).
• Monitor and record student progress in instructional areas, including academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, and social skills.
• Manage physical needs such as toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, positioning, and transporting students in wheelchairs.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Personal Care Assistant certification completed within 30 days of start date.
• Completed 60 semester or 90 quarter credits, or obtained an associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution.
• Passed the Para Educator exam or Para Pro exam (documentation required).
• Good communication, interpersonal, and record‑keeping skills.
• Ability to use technology and computers.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff.
• Ability to supervise students and take direction.
• Regular attendance, completing assigned days.
• Capable of lifting a minimum of 40 pounds.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, data functions, and people functions, including toileting, feeding, self‑care procedures, and implementing a behavioral management program.
• Must be physically working in the building.

• $20.85 per hour to $25.50 per hour for District Qualified Teachers (DOQ) with K–12 experience.
• $22.00 per hour to $26.65 per hour for candidates with an AA/AAS degree or 60 semester/90 quarter credits, DOQ with K–12 experience.
• $22.85 per hour to $27.50 per hour for candidates with a BA degree, DOQ with K–12 experience.
• Additional pay: $0.50 per hour for Special Ed Paras serving center‑based students or classrooms 50 percent or more of the time.
• Additional pay: $1.00 per hour for Special Ed Paras at Two Rivers Transition Program.
• Additional pay: $1.50 per hour for Special Ed Paras at River Trail Learning Center.
