Community School Coordinator
- Youth Programs for Middle Schools

Full‑Time 193 days/8 hrs/day, Monday
- Friday, with some evenings and occasional Saturdays. (Hours arranged with the Community Schools Program Supervisor)

Location: Anoka Middle School – Fred Moore Campus

Community School programs provide a variety of enrichment, recreation, and athletic classes and activities for preschool through Grade 8 youth and their families. Programs are located in each elementary and middle school in the Anoka‑Hennepin School District.

Community School Coordinators are responsible for the development, scheduling, marketing, and delivery of a broad range of programs after school, evenings, and/or weekends.

• Plan, organize, and administer enrichment, recreation, and athletic programs while staying current with trends and markets.
• Develop, coordinate, and implement marketing plans.
• Promote, publicize, and assess programs and services.
• Develop and monitor assigned budget.
• Hire, train, and supervise Community School programmers, support staff, facility monitors, program instructors, and middle school athletic coaches.
• Facilitate community access to school facilities.
• Develop and maintain partnerships and collaboration with district and community organizations.
• Prepare and submit statistical and state performance reports.
• Ensure security of the school building during assigned hours.
• Meet established program goals and standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience in education, athletics, recreation, or related field.
• Experience coordinating, implementing programs, and working with programs for preschool through grade 8 youth.
• Experience recruiting and supervising staff and/or volunteers.
• Proficient computer skills (Internet search engines, email, MS Office).
• Excellent communication, human/public relation skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance, including completing an assigned day.
• Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions.
• Must be physically working at the building.

• Bachelor’s degree in youth enrichment, park and recreation, or K‑12 education preferred.
• Experience in a school‑based setting preferred.
• Three to five years experience providing athletic, enrichment, and recreation programs for middle school youth preferred.
• Experience working with community and non‑profit organizations preferred.
• Community Education experience and/or Community Education degree preferred.
• Experience working with economically and culturally diverse populations preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing setting preferred.
• School Registration software experience preferred.

Salary: $51,474 to $60,681, DOQ. This position is benefit eligible.
