Behavior Specialist in School Setting | Anoka, Minnesota

Shape the future of learners by leveraging your expertise as a Special Education Teacher and Behavior Intervention Specialist in a dynamic contract role for the upcoming school year. This position offers a unique split assignment: mornings are spent teaching high school students, while afternoons focus on supporting educators as a Behavior Intervention Specialist at the elementary level.

In this role, you’ll be the cornerstone of both direct instruction and behavioral support, collaborating closely with students, staff, and families. Your guidance will help shape effective behavior plans, while your instructional skills will empower high school learners within a dedicated crew setting.

Qualifications:

• Current Minnesota Teaching License required (Tier 3 or Tier
  4)
• Experience in Special Education, with a strong foundation in behavioral interventions
• Ability to consult and coach educators in creating and implementing behavior plans
• Skilled in managing a diverse caseload and adapting instructional strategies accordingly
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Resume must accompany application

Primary Responsibilities:

• Teach high school special education classes for 0.5 FTE each morning
• Serve as a Behavior Intervention Specialist for 0.5 FTE each afternoon, supporting elementary staff
• Collaborate with school teams to develop and refine behavior intervention strategies
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to progress monitoring
• Maintain open, effective lines of communication with families and colleagues
