Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) – 2026/2027 School Year
The Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) will collaborate with another BIS and the Special Education Administrator to support students with behavioral needs across approximately 3 to 4 assigned school sites. School assignments will consider the candidate's location when possible, but specific sites cannot be guaranteed.
The responsibilities include conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), developing and implementing Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS), supporting students through behavior intervention, de-escalation, and crisis response, training school staff on behavior strategies and recommendations, assisting with IEP development and implementation, using behavioral data to guide interventions and programming, maintaining a safe learning environment, following district policies and state/federal special education requirements, and performing additional duties assigned by the Director of Special Education.
Applicants must be one of the following:
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or a Licensed Special Education Teacher with a Minnesota Tier 3 or Tier 4 Teaching License. Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are not eligible for this position.
