Special Education Teacher - Anoka, Minnesota

Make a real difference in the lives of students with developmental cognitive disabilities. An opportunity is now open for a contract Special Education Teacher with a focus on DCD (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities). The position is based onsite at an elementary setting and spans from late August 2026 through early June 2027. Work closely with a dedicated team from Monday through Friday, supporting a small, manageable caseload while fostering academic and personal growth for students.

• Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
• Prior experience teaching or supporting students with developmental cognitive disabilities strongly preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and adapting lesson plans to diverse learning needs
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for family and interdisciplinary teamwork
• Ability to create a positive and supportive classroom environment

• Support and instruct a caseload of approximately 9 students with developmental cognitive disabilities
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with district and state guidelines
• Assess student progress and tailor instruction to individual goals
• Modify curriculum and utilize best practices to encourage student engagement and success
• Partner with ancillary staff and families to ensure a holistic approach to student education
• Maintain detailed records and provide regular updates on student performance
