Special Education Teacher in Anoka, MN

Make a real difference as a Special Education Teacher supporting students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities through an engaging contract position for the upcoming school year. Youll provide essential instruction and support to a small caseload of approximately nine elementary-aged students, empowering them to grow, learn, and reach their full potential. This onsite role offers a steady schedule Monday through Friday, working alongside a dedicated team of educators within an inclusive environment focused on benefiting every student.

• Current Minnesota Teaching Certification is required only candidates with a valid Tier 3 or Tier 4 license will be considered
• Demonstrated experience working with students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities or willingness to learn
• Previous teaching experience in Special Education classrooms preferred
• Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and best practices in differentiation
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans for approximately nine students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities
• Provide direct instruction and adapt curriculum to meet student needs
• Foster a structured, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service staff, and families to support student progress
• Collect data and maintain accurate records in compliance with all special education requirements
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to team decision-making

Expect a consistent 37.5-hour workweek, with school-day hours from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
