The Kinetic Group is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of small caliber ammunition under the iconic brands B&P, CCI, Federal Premium, Fiocchi, HEVI‑Shot, Remington and Speer. We have domestic manufacturing facilities in Minnesota, Idaho, Arkansas, and Missouri, servicing law enforcement, government agencies and sporting enthusiasts worldwide. The Kinetic Group, part of the Ammo+ division of The Czechoslovak Group (CSG), is seeking a Sr.

Design Engineer to lead the development of next‑generation rifle ammunition, from concept through testing, validation and full‑scale launch at our Federal Ammunition facility in Anoka, Minnesota.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of new rifle product development programs, including product design, testing, documentation, quality specifications, budgets, timelines and raw‑material qualifications.
  • Communicate with and assign workload to engineering technicians, conveying new product requirements and goals.
  • Collaborate with Operations and support staff to execute new product introductions into manufacturing, assessing equipment capability, establishing bills of materials and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Conduct problem solving and failure analysis to resolve design and production issues.
  • Support the Marketing team with technical data review, asset creation and attendance at trade and consumer shows as a subject‑matter expert.
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with vendors and outside technical resources to develop new processes and products.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Engineering, Science or Mathematics and 4+ years of related experience.
  • Hands‑on ownership of at least 1–2 products from concept through manufacturing launch.
  • Direct experience troubleshooting design issues on the production floor.
  • Experience working with manufacturing equipment and process capability (not just design).
  • Demonstrated failure analysis leading to design or process changes.
  • Experience with Minitab or similar statistical software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in ammunition development, ballistics, firearms and related processes.
  • Experience with military service, hunting, competitive shooting or reloading.
  • CAD/CAM experience.
Work Environment

Employee work assignments may include tasks in or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $75,800.00 – $. The actual offer will be based on experience, location, education, skills and achievements.
