* Generate 3D CAD models and detailed drawings for new and existing enclosure designs.

* Prepare bills of materials, routing information, and other required documentation for custom jobs within the company ERP system.

* Transform initial rough product designs and concepts from customers into complete, manufacturable working documents using CAD.

* Create clear and accurate approval drawings for customer review and feedback.

* Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and technicians to optimize designs for manufacturability and efficiency.

* Work closely with all departments in the plant to ensure drawings convey accurate, complete information and are free from errors.

* Coordinate directly with customer care to ensure customer product specifications are correctly applied to customer work orders.

* Maintain CAD data and all corresponding documents within the data management system to ensure version control and traceability.

* Process engineering change requests and update all applicable documents to align with current company standards.

* Apply current industry drafting standards for detailed drawings, including ASME Y14.5.

* Analyze documentation to identify and correct missing or inconsistent information and ensure all specifications are accurately presented.

* Review documentation created by other team members for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.

* Use and apply basic mechanical fits, tolerances, GD&T principles, and stack-ups to both new and existing products.

* Organize and manage workload effectively to complete assigned projects with a high level of accuracy and on schedule.

Essential Skills

* Two-year technical degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent technical education.

* Up to 5 years of drafting and design experience.

* Proficient Solid Works experience, including 3D modeling and detailed drawing creation.

* Experience creating and maintaining bills of materials within an ERP or similar system.

* Ability to design and document sheet metal components and assemblies (knowledge of sheet metal design preferred).

* Working knowledge and application of industry drafting standards, including ASME Y14.5.

* Ability to apply basic mechanical fits, tolerances, GD&T principles, and tolerance stack-ups.

* Strong drafting and detailing skills for parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and weldments.

* Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

* Effective workload organization and planning skills to manage multiple assignments.

* Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with internal and external customers and suppliers.

* Proficiency with common office software applications for documentation and communication.

Additional

* Familiarity with sheet metal design practices and manufacturing considerations.

* Experience working within a data management system for CAD and document control.

* Experience in processing engineering change requests and updating design documentation.

* Experience collaborating with manufacturing engineering and production teams to optimize designs.

* Comfort reviewing and providing feedback on documentation created by other team members.

* Strong communication skills to work effectively with customer care, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
