R&D Mechanical Engineer

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION

• Defining system architecture to support segment-wide growth and scalability, demonstrating the ability to lead technical work autonomously.
• Balancing feasibility with business priorities, while advising leadership on technical direction and ensuring clear communication and documentation across teams and functions.
• Planning and conducting work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, workflow, and criteria.
• Working and/or leading multi‑functional project teams to develop and define requirements for new enclosure products.
• Providing project/technical leadership to other engineers for the development of new products and customization of existing products in alignment with product architecture strategy.
• Participating in multi‑functional teams to help improve quality, production or field issues.
• Working to continuously improve processes, teamwork, reduce risk, and shorten product development cycle time.
• Developing, mentoring and applying specific technological expertise to specific projects, such as component selection analysis, standards, and manufacturing processes.
• Defining testing protocols and supervising completion of internal testing, external certifications, and mentoring junior engineers.
• Independently performing assignments with instructions regarding the general results expected.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience required.
• Proven experience in design and failure analysis tools such as DFMEA, DFM, etc.
• Strong proven knowledge in manufacturing methods, sheet metal required.
• Ability to design components and assemblies using 3D CAD system Solid Works.
• Strong logic and reasoning to identify the technical strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Demonstrated analytical knowledge in understanding test and performance data.
• Uses product knowledge constantly to make decisions that result in improved customer satisfaction, product functionality, and overall design.
• Self‑directed capabilities in leading multiple tasks/projects and teams in a fast‑paced, multifaceted environment.
• Ability to interpret and analyze professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; analyze mathematical concepts and apply these to practical situations.
• Global design experience with capacity to influence and collaborate with other engineering locations such as Reynosa, Mexico.
• Up to 10% international travel required.
• Spanish fluency is a plus.

$89,300.00 – $ depending on position offered. Employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
