Primary ObjectiveTo set up, adjust, maintain and efficiently operate laser systems and manual, NC, CNC presses and cutting machines. Use computerized manufacturing technologies to lead and guide the initial phase of the fabrication process.
Major Areas of Accountability- Use computerized manufacturing technologies or related systems to meet production and customer requirements.
- Perform set‑up duties on fabrication equipment and safety devices in accordance with production documentation.
- Position production materials and tooling and maintain proper dimensions according to print specifications.
- Operate and adjust equipment, including controllers, and edit programs according to production documentation.
- Meet established performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
- Comply with all applicable safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or potential hazards to the team leader or appropriate resource.
- Ensure that products and systems meet Hoffman quality standards.
- Inspect work to ensure proper dimensional requirements are met per prints.
- Perform specified preventative maintenance procedures and assist Maintenance and outside sources with troubleshooting systems.
- Takes action and notifies appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, etc.
- Participate actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
- May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 1 year of CNC manufacturing equipment experience preferred.
- 3+ years production work experience preferred.
- Computer experience with Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, JD Edwards and Radan.
- Knowledge of all operations of the assigned production process.
- Knowledge of safety policies and procedures and ability to promote compliance.
- Skill in analytical thinking and problem solving.
- Skill in communicating effectively through oral and written communications.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Fork truck licensed or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to lift, slide and move heavy gauges of material.
- Ability to read and use measuring equipment (e.g., tape measure, caliper).
- Ability to identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the Production Supervisor.
- Ability to sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstances and thrive in a constantly changing business environment.

PayTransparency
nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range: $14.80 – $27.50 Per Hour
