Quality Engineer III
Join our team in Anoka, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our products and processes. This position offers a dynamic environment where your expertise will be crucial in driving quality initiatives and fostering customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead representative for the Quality function, acting as the primary liaison with customers to cultivate strong relationships and enhance trust in our quality processes.
- Proactively engage with customers at various levels to address concerns and align on quality expectations.
- Supervise and mentor quality technicians, prioritizing tasks and ensuring the consistent application of quality processes.
- Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams in manufacturing, engineering, operations, and with external suppliers.
- Support production teams in delivering high-quality, compliant products consistently and in accordance with established processes.
- Lead Material Review Board (MRB) activities, ensuring timely resolution and corrective actions.
- Manage internal non-conformance reports (NCRs) and external quality issues, from identification to resolution, including handling customer complaints.
- Evaluate and address suspect or nonconforming materials, working swiftly with diverse teams to diagnose issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Lead quality problem-solving efforts using Six Sigma (DMAIC) methodologies, including containment, root cause analysis, and sustainable corrective actions.
- Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new product launches, including PFMEAs, Control Plans, GR&R, Capability Studies, and First Article Inspections (FAI).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related STEM field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with manufacturing or quality processes.
- Proven experience leading technical or production teams in a manufacturing or operations environment.
- Quality Certifications such as CQE, CMQ, CQA, and ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor training are strongly preferred.
- Experience in process improvement, planning, Six Sigma, Lean training, and quality systems.
- Proficiency with optical, multi-sensor, and scanning inspection equipment is preferred.
- Experience supporting quality initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites is preferred.
