What you will experience in this position
This high‑impact role is ideal for someone who finds satisfaction in balancing people leadership with hands‑on quality engineering. You’ll lead a team of Quality Technicians while driving quality strategy, problem‑solving, continuous improvement, and customer‑focused quality initiatives across our stainless‑steel manufacturing operation.
Lead quality performance for the stainless‑steel value stream as the primary quality liaison, helping ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Coach, develop, and support four quality technicians through mentoring, career development, succession planning, scheduling, workload balancing, and shift‑handover communication.
Partner with Manufacturing, Lean, Engineering, Sales, Materials, Procurement, HR, and Maintenance teams as the plant’s key quality subject matter expert.
Ensure products consistently meet customer requirements by driving adherence to established processes, procedures, and quality standards.
Lead investigation and resolution of internal nonconformances (NCRs) and external customer complaints, applying Six Sigma tools and root‑cause analysis to identify and implement effective solutions.
Develop, implement, and sustain corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes that resolve quality concerns and prevent recurrence.
Maintain and strengthen compliance with ISO
9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements, while leading external audits and supporting product and process audits through completion of follow‑up actions.
Apply engineering and Lean principles to improve manufacturing quality and reliability while supporting APQP initiatives including PFMEA, Control Plans, GR&R, Capability Studies, First Article Inspection (FAI), and ongoing product and process revisions.
Qualifications- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, and 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and quality functions.
- Experience leading, coaching, or developing others; 2+ years of formal leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong customer and supplier management experience, with the ability to communicate effectively on complex quality issues and to elevate appropriately.
- Experience with process management, organizational change, Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, and quality management systems.
- Preferred qualifications include quality certifications (CQE, CMQ, CQA), ISO
9001:2015 Internal Auditor training, sheet‑steel manufacturing experience, and/or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
