MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST ‒ Pipefitter / Boiler Repair

Full Time 260 days/8 hrs/day

Location:

District-Wide

• Repair and maintain all steam and hydronic heating systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, including low-pressure steam boilers, burners, control circuits, and associated equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance service calls.
• Maintain vehicle inventory, department tools, and equipment.
• Complete preventive maintenance and repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings & Grounds, Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Lead, or their designee.

High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years' experience in plumbing, hydronics, and building maintenance repair or apprentice plumber. Requires valid Class "D" Minnesota Driver's License. Ability to read, understand and follow architectural, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and schematic drawings and blueprints. Ability to understand and observe oral and written instructions. Working knowledge of computers and computer programs used in the assigned area.

Ability to maintain records and prepare reports. Motivated self-starter; well‑organized and efficient; ability to work with minimum supervision and direction. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Ability to perform position responsibilities, including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions. Must be physically working in the building/on site.

Preferred Licensing or any of the following:
Pipe Fitter License, Master Gas License, Boilers License, Universal Refrigeration License, HVAC License. Refer to SEIU Contract on AH website for more info.

Base Pay is $37.70/hour. (Additional $5.00 stipend available with proper professional maintenance license)
