Position: Concrete Estimator NEXT IN ESTIMATION LLC (Texas)

By focusing on reliability and efficiency, Next In Estimation LLC enables clients to save time and reduce overall project costs.

Role Description The Concrete Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates for concrete work, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs for a variety of construction projects. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drawings and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, analyzing project requirements, and preparing bid proposals and budgets. The Concrete Estimator will maintain cost databases, track market pricing, and support value engineering efforts to optimize project costs.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Austin, Texas

Qualifications

  • Concrete construction experience, including skills in formwork and flatwork, sufficient to accurately interpret plans and estimate scopes.
  • Knowledge of ready mix concrete, including mix design, placement requirements, and related cost factors.
  • Experience with heavy equipment used in concrete work, with the ability to estimate equipment needs and operating costs.
  • Carpentry skills related to concrete framing and layout, supporting accurate takeoffs and constructability review.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and civil/structural plans.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and digital takeoff tools; comfort with basic project management systems.
  • Solid math, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and calculations.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project teams, vendors, and clients in a field and office environment.
  • Prior experience as a concrete estimator or in concrete construction management is preferred; relevant certifications or technical training are a plus.
