Intervention Aide (Credit Recovery)
Provide targeted instructional support and interventions to students under the direct supervision of certified teachers. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing of credit recovery lab course work.
High School Diploma or GED and meet one of the following requirements:
Completion of 48 credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education, possess an associate (or higher) degree, or passing score on the paraprofessional assessment. Must qualify for the required paraprofessional certificate (Educational Aide I) and meet the following requirements for certification:
Experience working with students or parents as approved by the employing superintendent-Experience may be work in church related schools, day camps, youth groups, private schools, licensed day-care centers, or similar experience.
Ability to work with students with disabilities. Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents orally and in writing. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to use basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office Software. Ability to navigate the Credit Recovery Instructional Program. Bilingual preferred.
Provide targeted instruction and classroom support to students under the direction of a teacher, and work with individual students or small groups. Works closely with campus teachers to address the needs of students. Coordinate with the school counselor on credit recovery classes. Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments. Help maintain a neat and orderly computer lab.
Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment. Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports. Provide instructions to substitute, if absent.
Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside the computer lab. Make teacher or school counselor aware of special needs or problems of individual students.
Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance. Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment. Moderate standing; occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping. Moderate walking. Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds). Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise. Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
