Intervention Aide (Credit Recovery)

Provide targeted instructional support and interventions to students under the direct supervision of certified teachers. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing credit recovery lab coursework.

• High School Diploma or GED and meet one of the following requirements:
  • Completion of 48 credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Possess an associate (or higher) degree
  • OR passing score on the paraprofessional assessment – qualify for the required paraprofessional certificate (Educational Aide I) and meet the following requirements for certification
  • Experience working with students or parents as approved by the employing superintendent – experience may be work in church related schools, day camps, youth groups, private schools, licensed day‑care centers, or similar experience

• Ability to work with students with disabilities
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents orally and in writing.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to use basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office Software
• Ability to navigate the Credit Recovery Instructional Program

Instructional Support:

• Provide targeted instruction and classroom support to students under the direction of a teacher, and work with individual students or small groups.
• Works closely with campus teachers to address the needs of students.
• Coordinate with the school counselor on credit recovery classes.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly computer lab.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide instructions to substitute, if absent.

Student Management:

• Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside the computer lab.
• Make teacher or school counselor aware of special needs or problems of individual students.

Other:

• Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
• Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
