Managing food service staff during catered events, overseeing delivery drivers and coordinating event scheduling and execution to meet client expectations. Ensuring staff adhere to customer service and safety standards. Assisting in safe work environment, monitoring productivity, auditing food and safety practices, supervising day‑to‑day activities, orienting and training staff, posting/filing, creating signage, coordinating special events, and fostering a customer‑oriented culture.
Responsibilities- Management of food service staff (wait staff) during catered events.
- Management of delivery drivers and creation of delivery schedules for time‑sensitive events.
- Event management: ensuring staff maintain service standards and safety protocols; setting up and tearing down onsite/offsite special events (table service and buffet settings).
- Coordinating with campus departments to prepare venues and meet client expectations.
- Utilizing computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Email, kX).
- Ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Monitoring employee productivity and recommending improvements.
- Auditing, monitoring and correcting physical and food safety practices.
- Supervising daily activities of subordinates and assigning specific responsibilities.
- Orientation and training of employees.
- Performing clerical and administrative duties (posting/filing, record organization, creation of signage and informational material).
- Onsite coordination of special events.
- Working with the team to create a customer‑oriented environment.
- Working with customers to ensure satisfaction in quality, service, and problem resolution.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Hotel, restaurant, or related post‑secondary education an asset.
- Previous supervisory experience an asset.
- Experience working in a unionized environment an asset.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and time‑management skills.
- Computer skills – Excel, Word, Email, Event Management Software (e.g., kX) an asset.
- Willingness to work days, nights, and weekends regularly.
- Ability to stand for long periods during events.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (may be required).
